We’ve been eager to start cultivating the field but we’ve been rained out a couple times so far.
This year we’ve received a lot more rainfall and cooler days than in years past keeping the ground wet.
When the soil is too wet it clumps together and the cultivation equipment can end up doing more harm than good by burying plants with large clumps of wet soil.
We gave it an attempt with the sweep but it is best we wait for it to dry down and fortunately these next few days are hot and sunny.
By next Friday we hope to have completed our first round of manual weed cultivation with both styles of cultivators.
We will take pictures and videos throughout to show you how it is done!
